Variations of the Territorial Body at the Speed of Light (Tribute to Paul Virilio)
Drawing from Paul Virilio's philosophy on technological acceleration along with its various forms of technocracy based on uprooting, fragmentation, and the re-totalization of different political bodies: animals, social, and territorial, this series seeks reflection on our identity in an increasingly mediated society.
This work places particular emphasis on the Territorial Body, taking the concept of Homeland as a basic part of identity and reflecting on collective modes of valuation. This exercise explores and questions the effect of speed as a determining factor in the perception of identity and the experience in the social sphere.
"What alters the social rite is reflected in the domain of culture and in the common forms of consciousness."
This series consists of three flags redesigned by the artificial intelligence Vexiology, AI; which gathered information from each country in the American continent, generating a description of what the design should be within the context of each nation.
For this series, the three representative flags of North America were taken: Mexico, the United States of America, and Canada.
These designs have been made to the official and regulatory measures for the public use of the flag in each country. As a complement, there is an anthem alluding to the North American Free Trade Agreement created by the artificial intelligence Melobytes, generated by mixing lyrics from the national anthems of each country, playing from its foundation.
