In an increasingly mediated world, where technology reshapes how we perceive, feel, and relate, human experience tends to dissolve into streams of information that seek to homogenize it. We become profiles, data, distributed presences within a network that never stops. Wish emerges from this tension. The portraits that make up the series are generated in virtual environments—spaces where faces can be infinite and seemingly interchangeable. Yet each one is charged with an affective intensity that points to something deeply human: desire, emotion, the need to be seen. Behind every “user” lies an irreducible life. Within the context of telepresence and the dislocation of the body, these images operate as thresholds—surfaces where the virtual does not cancel the human, but reveals it from another perspective. Far from algorithmic neutrality, Wish insists on the singularity of each gesture, on the emotional charge that persists even within the most abstract systems. The series proposes a pause against the logic of immediacy, inviting us to recognize that, even within the network, we remain bodies that feel, that desire, and that seek real connection.
